on the carbohydrate diet

pastas, potatoes, and

levels of fat storage.

Centre, our doctors perform
a complete metabolic analysis
and determine the weight
loss needs for each patient
to achieve ideal body
weight. Hormone levels
are optimized to help
patients achieve their
goals. Each patient will
have their caloric requirements
measured and specific
diets prescribed according
to their levels.
Should Bariatric Surgery
be the recommended course
of action, our Bariatric
Support Group provides
a secure setting for patients
undergoing significant
lifestyle changes. Patients
who participate in the
support group significantly
improve surgery outcomes
and long-term benefits.
Medifast
Medifast is a very low
calorie diet which is
medically supervised.
This program utilizes
nutritionally formulated
shakes as the supplement
in the initial phase.
This part of the program
is reserved for the
patients whose BMI is
greater than 30 or who
have at least 50 pounds
to lose in order to
decrease medical risk
of diabetes and/or heart
disease. During this
phase, the patient is
monitored weekly.
After the initial 13
week phase, the patient
is re-evaluated for
maintenance phase or
continued weight loss
depending on what the
patient needs. At this
time other food supplements
such as bars, soups,
puddings, etc. may be
added.
